Today was a day at sea. It rained. Personally, I thought it was a good day to rain. A good time to sleep in and time to enjoy the ship inside.
But the energy was off. Something wasn't quite right. Maybe it was the post excitement lull. Maybe it was the rain. Maybe it was boredom. Either way, it was a slow, lazy day. For me, that was perfect after the hubbub of the last few days.
Today's moment came during the afternoon magic show with Chip Romero, a comedic magician. He was good. He was funny. Bonus! (Here's a one of his tricks performed at the evening show.)
But the moment was when he had a young boy join him on stage to do a vanishing egg trick. This young lad, of around 8 or so, was handsomely dressed in a pressed white shirt, black slacks and shiny black shoes. He looked ready for the stage. His personality shone nearly as brightly as his shoe too! Chip's new assistant was fun and interactive with Chip and even took a lot of extra bows when the crowd cheered him on for more.
It made me smile because on the ship there were a lot of misbehaved and/or unsupervised children. It was a delight when we came across a family that was functional and not chaotic. This young lad, most certainly seemed to come from a more positive, structured environment.
Moments shrugging off odd energies and enjoying the change in pace.
Moments enjoying the excitement and engagement of a magician's assistant.
