Today I had my eyes checked for the first time in four years. Yes, I know, I really should do it more often, but I haven’t had any issues with my eyes, nor with my glasses or contacts, so really, what’s the harm?
So the moment today that brought the smile to me was when the drugs used to dilate my pupils started to work. I was playing on my phone doing a crossword. I started holding my phone further and further away from me so that I could read it. I actually, at one point, laughed out loud when I realized I was doing what many of my (ahem) aging friends are doing. THIS must be what it’s like to have hyperopia (or farsightedness). It was a good chuckle to myself.
